The Kentucky CASA Network, Inc. seeks a CASA Program Director to provide CASA volunteer advocacy services to children who are victims of abuse and neglect in Knox County and Laurel County, Kentucky

The Program Director will also assist in the local communities’ efforts to establish an independent local CASA program. It is a full-time, exempt position, with the expectation that at least 75% of work time will be dedicated to the duties pertaining to volunteer management, and the remaining work time dedicated to the development of an independent local CASA program. The position reports primarily to the Kentucky CASA Network Deputy Director.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the juvenile justice, child welfare, and/or the child advocacy field and will be passionate about the mission of Court Appointed Special Advocates. 3 to 5 years of total experience in non-profit administration management, volunteer recruitment and supervision are highly preferred.

Candidates will be a highly motivated self-starter professional willing to take initiative with a strict commitment to program standards, will possess excellent written and oral communication skills and will have the ability to work independently and collaboratively. This position will be located in London, Kentucky.

1. Recruit, screen, interview, and train new Court Appointed Special Advocate volunteers.
2. Assist in creating CASA volunteer training programs and training materials.
3. Organize and provide pre-service and in-service trainings to CASA volunteers.
4. Supervise and facilitate CASA volunteers in performing their duties, including, but not limited to, determining the best interests of the child, preparing recommendations for court, and ongoing advocacy services.
5. Attend court.
6. Review reports prepared by CASA volunteers to assure they are appropriately written and delivered to all parties.
7. Maintain volunteer files and reports.
8. Maintain case files.
9. Maintain data using electronic data system.
10. Ensure the safeguarding of confidential information relating to children, their families and volunteers.
11. Follow terms of providing monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
12. Maintain appropriate contact with CASA volunteers, with personal contact occurring at least once per month, and more frequently as may be appropriate or necessary, and having regularly scheduled case progress meetings.
13. Consult, coordinate and collaborate with other providers of child welfare services.
14. Ensure that National CASA and KY CASA standards and statutes are met.
15. Ensure that VOCA requirements are followed.
16. Assist in coordinating activities of the Local CASA Program Planning Committee
17. Assist in providing technical support to the Local CASA Program Planning Committee
18. Any other reasonable duties as assigned.

This is a grant funded at-will full time exempt position. Salary is $40,000.

A highly motivated and structured individual is the best candidate. Regular work hours are 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday however some flexibility and flex time is necessary. A valid Kentucky driver’s license is required as is dependable transportation and appropriate insurance. Travel throughout Knox and Laurel County is required of the position as well as throughout Kentucky for ongoing training and development.

Mileage reimbursement is available at the Kentucky State Per Diem rate. A background check is conducted as part of employment which includes a national and state criminal check and a child abuse registry check.
